Keep in step with Strictly

-

THE juggernaut that is Strictly Come Dancing returned to our screens on Saturday night, so expect people to talk of little else until Christmas. Celebrities including Kate Silverton, Katie Piper, Faye

Tozer, Lee Ryan and Susannah Woodall took to the ballroom for the first time, hoping to impress judges Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Shirley Ballas.

Fulfilling viewers’ need to know every cough and spit about the ballroom competition, this fanzine show also returns tonight. On every day of the week, with an extended hour-long build-up episode on Fridays, it gives the low down on everything going on behind the scenes.

Zoe Ball hosts the programme, which promises to be packed with the latest headlines, backstage gossip, expert opinion and exclusive interviews.

This week, Zoe welcomes former pro dancer Erin Boag, who scrutinises the weekend’s choreography.

Ian Waite waves his sparkly wand in the segment Waite’s Warm Up, giving his thoughts on the couples’ training progress.

Costume designer Vicky Gill gives a preview of the weekend’s no doubt sequin-covered outfits.

And Strictly alumnus Gethin Jones (third place in 2007!) is on hand to catch up with the couples during their rehearsals.

So if you want to see celebrities wheezing after training, shovelling bananas down their throats during breaks or being spray tanned and fitted with headacheinducing coloured costumes, then this is the place to be.

And if not, then it’s going to be a long old stretch until Strictly is over for another year.

Best to embrace the glitter ball and er, keep watching!
