Crooks delighted to extend his Rovers career

-

BEN Crooks has signed a new two-year deal with Hull KR, keeping him at KCOM Craven Park until the end of 2020.

The centre joined the Robins from Leigh Centurions in time to help Tim Sheens’ men survive in Super League by playing his part in the Qualifiers series.

A familiar face in the city, having plied his trade for Hull FC earlier in his career, the 25-year-old is now settling down in red and white for the next two years and revealed his delight at the deal.

“I have really enjoyed the last few months at the club, making sure we secured our status in Super League which is where Hull KR belong,” Crooks said.

“The coaches and all of the boys have been great with me since arriving which made it easy to settle in and just concentrate on my rugby.

“I still think I have my best years ahead of me as a player and I’m excited for what the next few years here at Rovers brings both for me personally and the club.”

Coach Sheens added: “Ben was a significant late addition to the squad this season.

“His combination on the right edge with Mcguire, Tomkins and Hall certainly helped us with our Super League survival.

“He has settled in well at the club and I’m pleased to have secured him for the next two seasons.

“Ben is only 25, so for a player of his age he has a lot of experience which is a big positive when building a team for the future.”
