Neil Palmer, 48, of Beverley Road, west Hull, was jailed for 24 weeks for three offences of assault by beating; assaulting two constables and a community support officer in the execution of their duty – which involved spitting – and stealing two bottles of wine, worth £11.50, from Tesco Express in Beverley Road. He must pay a £115 surcharge.

A pit bull terrier called Zara is on borrowed time after police were granted an order for it to be “destroyed”. Owner Nicole Hare, of Limedane, Orchard Park, was in court when the applicatio­n was made under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. The order will be carried out within two months unless an exemption is obtained.

Leslie Willis, 25, of Glasgow Street, west Hull, must do 190 hours of unpaid work for handling stolen goods, a white 125cc moped worth £300. He must pay £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.

Luke Butcher, 30, of Irene Avenue, Durham Street, east Hull, was fined £120 for breaching a restrainin­g order by contacting the victim and staying at her home. He must pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Alex O‘connell, 28, of Linnaeus Street, west Hull, must have up to 30 days’ rehabilita­tion for twice breaching a non-molestatio­n order by contacting the victim by telephone on multiple occasions. He must pay £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.

Dale Little, 34, of Newland Avenue, west Hull, must have six months of treatment for alcohol dependency, attend 31 sessions of a “building better relationsh­ips” course, and have up to 40 days’ rehabilita­tion, for assault by beating. He must pay an £85 surcharge.

Adrian Elleringto­n, 49, of Granville Street, west Hull, must pay £300 compensati­on for stealing a Bosch power drill, a hedge strimmer, a lawnmower, and a power cable, worth £170, from a garage in Park Avenue, Hessle.
