COCO BROUGHT TO RSPCA IN TERRIBLE STATE

A POODLE who was found incredibly neglected now needs your help for a vital operation.

Coco was brought to the Hull and East Riding RSPCA branch last week after being rescued from a house filled with other dogs, and was found in such a bad state there is an ongoing investigation with the owners.

Coco was immediately treated for a severe ear infection, dental problems and a matted coat, but her eye was so badly damaged due to a poor diet that it needs to be removed.

The local charity, which receives little funding from the national charity, is now hoping animal lovers will help towards the cost of this operation.

Carina Mclean-smith, assistant manager at the Clough Road RSPCA site, said: “Coco was immediately treated for an ear infection, dental and matted coat and further tests results were pending, which showed a poor diet and that her eye needs removing.

“We are now appealing for help to raise funds for her scheduled operation to remove one of her eyes, which she can no longer see out of, to prevent further infections.

“She is very lucky as we have a new home awaiting her after a lovely couple visited the centre at the weekend and are willing to provide this 11-year-old girl a new forever home.

“We have spent a huge amount already and are now appealing for the public’s help for the final phase to make her fit for a new home. Our target is £1,307.96.”

Donations can be made via the RSPCAHULL Facebook page or by calling into the animal centre, which is open from 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm every day except Wednesday.
