Comedy with a cause

IT’S Channel 4’s big charity telethon night, aiming to bring in cash galore for cancer research charities. And they’re certainly putting the fun into fundraisin­g, with a whole host of special programmes, big names popping up in sketches and another unmissable Celebrity Gogglebox.

Presenting in the studio are comedians Adam Hills and

Alan Carr, along with DJ Maya Jama, and they’ll be joined by musical guests including John Legend, Liam Gallagher, Little Mix and Louis Tomlinson.

Big highlights to be shown on the night include king of the crooners Michael Bublé’s Carpool Karaoke special with James Corden, a sketch from Miss Piggy and the Muppets, Celebrity Bake Off stars and a host of famous faces battling against each other in a series of SU2C challenges.

There’ll be a musical tribute to Aretha Franklin while Davina Mccall tasks Made In Chelsea stars Jamie and Spencer with creating a charity single.

The Windsors’ Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie demonstrat­e their interviewi­ng expertise and Noel Fielding and Richard Ayoade show off their boffin skills by explaining the science behind some of the pioneering research that SU2C funds.

Have the tissues at hand for the array of emotional appeal films, fronted by the likes of Eddie Redmayne, Benedict Cumberbatc­h, Tom Hardy, Gary Lineker, Liam Neeson and Jodie Comer.

Sharon Horgan will be joining forces with Clare Balding, Prue Leith and Katherine Ryan to highlight to women the importance of checking their boobs, while David Mitchell, Jonathan Ross, Bear Grylls and Jack Whitehall talk tackle to the men.

The Last Leg boys will be joined by a load of comedians for the final fling in the studio and a lead up to the unveiling of the grand total.
