CROOKS SIGNING IS A GREAT PIECE OF BUSINESS BY THE ROBINS

HULL KR announced Ben Crooks’ contract extension earlier this week and that can only be good news for the Robins.

He has a lot of Super League experience and that shone during the Qualifiers. He was ultimately a key part of the reason why Rovers retained their Super League status.

It’s always best to get a player tied down for the long-term when his best years are in front of him and that applies with Crooks.

This way as he goes through his new contract he will become more and more valuable as he develops into the player he wants to be and KR believe he can be.

He is a quality performer who has a lot of good attributes. In the right position and the right team, he is only going to become better and develop his game. The main thing is he has the potential to become a big player in Rovers’ future.

He still hasn’t got to the position where he will want to be himself and where everyone thinks he can get to. Ben has the attributes to be a top-class international centre.

There are still aspects of his game he needs to improve on to get to that point and he’ll know that. But he’s in the right type of environment to work on those parts of his game and become a better player.

Regardless of whether you are the top earner in the club or at the bottom, it’s all about value for money. This deal is clearly right for both sides and I’m sure there will be some aims set out for Crooks moving forward and he’ll be looking to meet those targets and progress further in his career.
