Cyclist wants to thank kind man

HULL: A 20-year-old wants to find and thank a man who helped him after being thrown over his bicycle handlebars.

Jordan, pictured, was cycling along Guildhall Road in Hull city centre at about 2am on Wednesday, when he pulled on his brakes and swerved in order to miss an oncoming car.

He was thrown over his handlebars and on to the road, where he suffered nasty grazes and cuts to his face.

He now wants to find and thank a stranger who stayed with him for more than an hour.

“I was biking home to east Hull and I wasn’t expecting anyone to be around to help,” Jordan said.

“That’s when this oldish guy came up to check on me. I asked if he was on his way home from work because he was wearing a hi-vis jacket, but I can’t remember if he said where from or what his name was.

“I rang an ambulance because I couldn’t move very well, but it didn’t arrive, so after an hour or so I felt able to bike home.

“I just want to thank him for staying with me for all that time. I told him I would go through the Hull Daily Mail to thank him, but I’m not sure if he’ll remember me saying it.”

Jordan attended the hospital the next day, where he was given a CT scan and found only to have superficial injuries to his face.
