Rovers quartet to return for Saints
TIM Sheens has revealed that up to four key players could return for Hull KR’S trip to St Helens this Friday.
The Robins are looking to bounce back to winning ways after two defeats in succession against Catalans Dragons and Huddersfield Giants.
One of the big themes from those losses was a depleted pack as injuries ravaged the club, but Sheens has offered up some good news ahead of the clash at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
KR were without Mitch Garbutt, Danny Mcguire, Kane Linnett and Ben Crooks among others for the 42-8 defeat at Huddersfield Giants last Friday, but all four are in contention to return this week.
“We have got people coming back for Saints. Garbutt will be available, and we are hoping to have Linnett and Crooks,” Sheens told the Mail.
“There is a bit of light at the end of the tunnel.
“We might possibly get Danny Mcguire back as well. We have lost young Will Dagger for a month, though. Hall will be better after another week at fullback.”
Not only were Rovers missing key men at Huddersfield, but also they could only field 16 players in the end as Elliot Wallis didn’t come on, while the likes of winger Will Oakes had to battle through injury.
“Will Oakes hurt his back early on against Huddersfield,” Sheens added. “He really struggled. We didn’t have enough options and he had to battle it out.
“He wasn’t comfortable at all. He could barely sit up in the changing rooms after the game. It exposed us on that side a fair bit.”
