Eager to claim a fourth major scalp of the campaign, London started quickly and spent the majority of the opening ten minutes camped in Hull’s half and forcing a drop out without actually getting over the line.

But, on their first venture up the field Hull made the newly-promoted outfit pay for their impotence, as Faraimo’s clever offload gave the opportunit­y for Griffin to drive over from short distance.

However, London hit back immediatel­y.

Pouncing on a dropped ball from Sika Manu, Kear was allowed to stroll over from 20 metres and touch down under the posts and take the lead as Kieran Dixon did what Marc Sneyd couldn’t and add the extras.

Hull nearly edged in front once more when Tuimavave stole the ball off Kear 20 metres out, only to be pulled down just shy of the tryline.

The Black and Whites were forced to think outside the box in order to find a way though for a second.

Finding touch after Eddie Battye was penalised in the centre of field, Danny Houghton tapped quickly and fed Griffin who found a way through a broken back line to touch down.

Hull allowed the penalty count to swing rapidly in London’s favour and they took advantage of the Airlie Birds’ ill-discipline to silence the 1,000-strong travelling fans behind the posts.

Evading the challenge of Albert Kelly, Pelissier dived over the line from dummy-half to put the Broncos into a half-time lead.

Hull were in no mood for an upset in the second half, though, and within two minutes they had re-taken the lead through Tuimavave, whose angled run onto Kelly’s flat pass saw the centre over. The Black and
