Mr Levy replied: “OK, you’ve said your bit, what day will they reopen? You said this week, so you’ve got Wednesday, Thursday, Friday?”

Mr Craker said it would be one of those days and Mr Levy said: “So I have to guess?” He then began to press him on all 102 parks being open by the end of the week and finished the “cringe” interview by saying “It’s a guessing game.”

Following the show, Mr Levy told fans on Twitter the interview had “lots of complaints about me.”

One complaint sent to the BBC said: “Mr Levy came across as arrogant and rude, not allowing the parks to interviewee to answer before talking over him belittling way.”

Viewers also took to Twitter to criticise Peter for the way he spoke to the councillor. Another said: “Disgusting bullying.”

“I always thought you’re aggressive with the guests.

“They might be important people in their fields, but they are also going to be nervous on TV.”

In his defence, Mr Levy wrote: “I have a tin hat on. Lots of complaints about me tonight for trying to pin down Dave Craker on play parks.

“Dave can cope and has a great sense of humour.

“Most play parks opening up later in the week, a few maybe next week.”

However other viewers jumped to Mr Levy’s defence.

One Twitter user said: “Well done Peter. All you tried to do was get a straight answer, which people want.

“The interview would have been a lot easier if he didn’t waffle on. You can carry on for me.”

Another said: “Take no notice Peter, we love you just the way you are.”

The Mail asked Hull City Council when the play parks will reopen.

A Hull Culture and Leisure and Hull City Council joint statement said: “Following the Government issuing of guidance on Monday last week, some steps have already been taken to safely prepare all 100 play areas and 13 outdoor gyms for a phased reopening to the public.

“All 800 pieces of equipment are currently undergoing a thorough health and safety inspection, before being allowed to reopen.

“We will announce which parks will be open for public use as soon as practically possible.” said: “Your does leave a and
