Man rescued after falling from Foreshore flood defences

COASTGUARD teams had to rescue a man who had fallen from new flood defences at Hessle Foreshore.

Hull Coastguard Rescue Team and ambulance crews were called at 12.50am on Tuesday morning.

On the Hull Coastguard Rescue Team Facebook page it says: “Paged to reports of a person with self-sustained injuries at Hessle Foreshore.

“The team arrived to find the casualty had fallen down the sea defences and onto the beach, sustaining a number of injuries.

“The casualty was then evacuated off the beach by the team and into the waiting ambulance. The team stood down and returned to the station.”

The rescue operation lasted around an hour.
