IT’S been another busy week the courts in Hull.
We have put together this roundup of some of the cases heard in Hull and East Yorkshire courts. in
Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
The charges do not relate to his efforts in promoting the charity, but he has continued promoting their work since admitting to the theft.
He was handed a 14-month suspended sentence by Judge Nadim who told him: “You’re a 48-yearold family man of previous good character and a positive character.
“In those circumstances it is particularly sad to see you in the dock today.” to accept a guilty plea to affray instead of violent disorder.
After hearing this, Wilks pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray. He will be sentenced on July 27.
Damian Driver, 26, of Boulevard Mews in Hull launched a sickening and unprovoked attack on another man outside the Garderner’s Arms on Cottingham Road on January 24 this year.
Driver hit the man and he fell to the floor and was unconscious for five minutes before paramedics arrived.
On May 29 this year, he also tried to strangle his ex-partner while his sister tried to wrestle him off.
Although things were fine between the three at first, Driver turned violent when his ex-partner left. In 2018, Driver was jailed for his part in a shocking pub brawl at the Goodfellowship Inn.
Judge Ahmed Nadim said all kinds of sentences have been used to try and help Driver stay away from crime, to no avail.
Sentencing him to a three year custodial sentence, the judge told Driver he has “behaved on a number of occasions in a manner of a violent and disgraceful bully.”
