South Hunsley seeking to ‘inspire’ and ‘aspire’
TWO of the watchwords of South Hunsley School and Sixth Form College are “inspire” and “aspire” and, according to headteacher Richard Williman, the educational establishment is a great environment in which to learn.
He said: “We are delighted to receive this recognition, which is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our staff and students as well as the tremendous support we receive from our parents, governing body, The Education Alliance, local authority and the community we serve.
“South Hunsley offers a really special environment to study and learn with a strong tradition of excellence both within and beyond the classroom.
“We are immensely proud of our school and the exceptional success that our dedicated students enjoy.
“It is only through hard work and tireless support and encouragement that such success can be achieved.”
South Hunsley, in East Dale Road, Melton, East Yorkshire, maintains its third-ranked position in the region from last year in the Real Schools Guide.
The school and sixth form college has established a reputation for strong academic performance and is consistently a top performing institution, both locally and nationally.
The most recent Ofsted inspection for South Hunsley brought it an “outstanding” rating, with students said to thrive in the school environment.
Not only were students seen to achieve highly, they also developed into confident, mature and thoughtful young people, according to the report.
“Students are very well prepared for their future lives,” Ofsted inspectors said.
“Students are proud of their school and are great ambassadors for it.
“Their behaviour is exemplary; high-quality relationships between adults and students contribute to the calm and purposeful atmosphere in lessons.
“Insightful leadership, including from the dedicated governors, and meticulous evaluation of the school’s work makes sure that no stone is left unturned in their successful quest to ensure students achieve their potential at South Hunsley, both academically and personally.”
