National Holidays coaches set to return as travel group steps in
OPERATOR PUTTING TOGETHER TOURS
NATIONAL Holidays’ coaches will be returning to the roads very soon after a travel group swooped in to save it.
The popular and much-loved holiday operator revealed the news in June this year that its parent company, Specialist Leisure Groups had entered administration, leaving National Holidays no other choice but to close immediately.
Staff and customers shared fond memories of travelling with National Holidays for day trips and mini breaks.
However, yesterday, National Holidays posted on its Facebook page that it had some “very exciting news” to share.
The holiday operator told how it has now joined JG Travel Group and will continue to operate under National Holidays.
A spokesman for National Holidays said: “We are delighted to announce that the National Holidays brand will be joining the JG Travel Group, whose other brands include Just Go! Holidays, Omega Breaks and Albion Journeys.
“We can’t wait to bring back all the holidays that customers loved and more!
“We pride ourselves on delivering a diverse, exciting and great value for money range of tours, focusing on excellent customer service - which includes nationwide pick-up points.”
But, if you are looking to get a refund for a trip with National Holidays, you might have to wait a bit longer.
The operator said that it has no involvement with any bookings taken up to May 22, when Specialist Leisure Groups entered administration.
JG Travel Group said it is “absolutely thrilled” to be able to add National Holidays to its portfolio.
A spokesman added: “We look forward to welcoming previous National Holidays’ customers to get back out enjoying their tours.
“Our aim is to take the essence of National Holidays and replicate many tours, pickup points and even staff.
“We will be using coach operators from the same regions, so you may well recognise some of the drivers.
“We are working hard to put together our initial 2021 holiday selection for you; the first set of tours will be announced very soon.
“Keep your eyes open for our countdown when we reveal how you can be first to book one of our new tours.”
