Plenty of visitors will flop at Tigers

HULL City can expect to steamroller plenty of teams at the KCOM Stadium, according to Plymouth manager Ryan Lowe.

City edged out the Pilgrims with Hakeeb Adelakun’s solitary goal on Saturday, with his crisp volley coming ten minutes in.

Grant Mccann’s men looked like running riot in the first half against the newly-promoted outfit, with Adelakun and Keane LewisPotter going close to increasing the tally before the break.

The second period was much more of an even affair, and City had goalkeeper Matt Ingram to thank for keeping their lead intact, while Lewis-potter saw a goal harshly chalked off for offside.

Matters became a little more nervy late on, though that was largely down to City’s profligacy in front of goal, which gave Argyle encouragement.

And Lowe believes there will be no shortage of teams that roll over under such early pressure from the Tigers, unlike his side.

“A lot of teams that will come to Hull City this season and concede in the first 10 minutes will then just flop, and it will be three or four by half-time,” said the Pilgrims’ boss.

“We certainly were never going to do that. We have gone toe to toe with them.

“It was total domination towards the back end of the second half. We just didn’t score.

“I know what I have got, and we have to stick with what we have got.

“The players at different clubs and budgets and everything else that comes with it is irrelevant to me.

“What I know is that I have got a good squad of players who are going to give me everything and play the right brand of football we want.
