‘I lost my son to a senseless act of violence’

HEARTBROKEN DAD SPEAKS OUT ABOUT ABDULLAH’S DEATH AT HANDS OF KNIFE GANG CSI SEARCH CONTINUES IN PEEL STREET

-

CRIME scene investigators spent the weekend in a quiet Hull street in the wake of a brutal murder nearby.

Abdullah Balouchi, 20, was found dead in Peel Street late on Wednesday evening, sparking more than four days of intense police activity across the city.

Homes were raided by armed police, with the assistance of the police helicopter, and officers stepped up high-visibility patrols in a bid to ease the nerves of concerned residents.

Dozens of floral tributes were left at the scene of the stabbing, while police kept watch at the police cordon.

Several police cars and vans were pictured in Pendrill Street on Saturday and Sunday with the first reports of their presence coming through at around 6.30am on Saturday morning.

“There’s been forensics, police crews, what looks like clear and brown evidence bags put in a big van,” one man who didn’t want to be named said.

“There were officers at the door of properties and vehicles on the street.”

The man, who returned from a night shift at work in the city centre early on Saturday morning, said he had first seen the officers as he was heading home.

However, they remained present well into Sunday.

They were still at the scene at 5pm yesterday, when investigators could be seen in white overalls going to and from a property in the quiet street.

It is not known whether the presence was related to the death of Mr Balouchi, who was found collapsed beside a park in Peel Street at around 8.45pm on Wednesday, October 7.

Humberside Police also introduced rarely used “Stop and Search” powers in the wake of the killing.
