Reel confirms it will remain open

CINEMA CHAIN ANNOUNCES TICKET DEAL

-

HULL’S Reel Cinema has confirmed that they will be staying open in the wake of Cineworld closures and even offering reduced price tickets as cheap as £2.50.

Cineworld announced that it would be temporarily closing all its sites this week as a result of delayed film releases further cutting into its already decimated audience numbers.

The decision affects around 45,000 employees in both the UK and the US – Cineworld’s two main markets.

It meant 127 Cineworld and Picturehouse theatres closed in the UK, including the Cineworld in Hull’s Kingswood Retail Park, from Thursday, October 8.

At the weekend, however, Hull’s Reel Cinema, in St Stephen’s Shopping Centre, confirmed that it would be remaining open despite the ongoing difficulties faced by the industry.

The cinema’s general manager Paul Watson said customers could enjoy tickets as cheap as £2.50 for all ages and all screenings before 1pm, rising slightly to £3.50 for any films after 1pm.

But customers have also been reminded of the coronavirus rules in place to visit the cinema safely.

Tickets need to in advance, for be booked online example, and no

cash payments are allowed.

Guests will also have to wear face masks when entering and moving around the cinema, but they can be taken off for eating and drinking.

Social distancing measures are in place, while film scheduling has been arranged to allow for staggered screenings to avoid crossovers between audiences and to provide time for deep cleaning between shows.

There are also fewer seats available to allow for sufficient spacing inside the cinema screening rooms.

Staff at the cinema will be wearing PPE and there are hand-sanitising stations in place throughout the cinema.
