ABDULLAH Balouchi was tricked, cornered, then stabbed in the back as he tried to get away from his attackers, his dad claims.

Posting on Facebook, Farouk Balouchi alleges his son was killed by a masked gang of seven men armed with knives in a “mindless act of violence”.

The 20-year-old suffered fatal stab wounds just yards from a children’s play park in Peel Street at around 8.45am on Wednesday, October 7.

Detectives are treating his death as murder, pursuing a number of active leads as six people continue to be held in custody.

But while the investigation continues, the victim’s father – who works as a university research fellow – has shared shocking details of how he believes his son died.

He claims his son got into an “altercation” with a drug dealer, then was set upon by seven masked men armed with knives.

“On the night of October 7 he got into an altercation with some person that was known to be of bad character and involved with drug dealing and gang related activity in and around the area,” he said.

“He was challenged to a fight for defending someone he thought to be a friend and told to wait there. Abdullah, thinking he would be in a fair fight, waited. This person returned after a short time not alone but with seven other people all armed with knifes and wearing masks to cover their faces.

“Four of these men set upon and attacked Abdullah while the others kept Abdullah’s three friends away at knifepoint.” He claims four of the gang of seven then cornered his son, stabbing him several times, including “fatally in the back as he was trying to get away”. Mr Balouchi added: “He got up from the attack, walked a few steps before collapsing to seated position.

“His friends were then able to come to his side when he asked to be taken to hospital. He was unable to say the word ‘hospital’ in full before collapsing into his friends’ arms.

“The doctor, in tears, told me his s heart had stopped for 15 minutes s before he arrived at the hospital.”

Mr Balouchi said his son n studied business at college, had d aspirations to attend university and was an avid boxer who trained at Lionheart Boxing Academy

Urging anyone with information to contact police, he condemned knife crime as an “act of terror” and said young children in Hull are “clearly under siege” from organised gangs moving here from bigger cities.

“I implore young people to not t carry knives and to give the police e any information they have about t

Abdullah’s murder,” he posted.

There has been intense police activity in the wake of the killing, including a series of arrests by armed officers, support from two police aircraft and assistance from other police forces.

Humberside Police were granted rarely used Section 60 powers, known more commonly as “Stop and Search”, with a number of weapons taken off Hull’s streets.

The force confirmed on Friday night that six people had been arrested in connection with Abdullah’s death so far. They remain in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Bob Clark, the senior investigating officer, described the investigation as “complex” but vowed to bring Abdullah’s killers to justice.

Meanwhile, speaking on Sunday night, Chief Superintendent Darren Downs praised the “strength and solidarity” of the community in the aftermath of the incident.

He said he believed the attack on Abdullah to be “isolated, with no wider threat to the public”, but high-visibility patrols around Peel Street will continue.

Lines of candles and a sea of flowers have been laid as part of a heartbreaking tribute to Abdullah.

Flowers, boxing gloves and a medal are also attached to a play area next to a corner shop in Wellington Lane, close to where Abdullah was fatally stabbed to death, with bottles of water also set out.

The area has become the point for an outpouring of from family and friends.

Anyone with information should call Humberside Police on the nonemergency number 101, quoting log 500 of October 7.
