Kingston keep perfect record with Springhead win

-

KINGSTON Hull FC Under-15s maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a 3-0 victory against Springhead FC in the Drypool League at Springhead Lane.

For the first 15 minutes there was nothing between the two sides with defences well on top.

Kingston thought they’d opened the scoring on 18 minutes when Dziugas Kotovicius headed over the keeper only to be disallowed for offside.

On 27 minutes Kingston did get off the mark when a nice touch from Tonijs Padrevics found Kotovicius who sent

Calum Hepworth through on goal to blast in from a tight angle.

That was all that separated the teams at the break with all to play for in the second half.

Kingston doubled their lead 12 minutes into the second half when a training ground corner move reaped its rewards.

Harvey Ralph’s pinpoint cross saw Hepworth head home for his second.

Midway through the half the training ground corner came to fruition again.

This time Ralph found Kevin Park whose powerful header beat the

Springhead keeper.

Springhead tried hard to get back into the game but the ever-reliable Jake Frederick made a double save to make sure the Kingston clean sheet was kept intact.

Kingston’s man of the match Harrison Mclaughlin almost got himself a rare goal when his shot from over 30 yards out deflected clear of the goal from a Springhead defender meaning the game finished 3-0 to Kingston, with the club making it back to back clean sheets and four wins from four in another solid performance.
