Freight firm launches in US

JOHN GOOD LOGISTICS EXPANDS

HULL-HEADQUARTE­RED global freight specialist John Good Logistics has launched in the US. The move by the £100m turnover business has been made to better serve new and existing customers, while “cementing its place as an important player in the growing and dynamic internatio­nal logistics market”.

An experience­d team has been assembled on the Eastern Seaboard, with services to include general cargo, project forwarding and specialise­d moves by land, sea and air freight.

Alan Platt, chairman of the sixth generation family business, said: “I am excited to announce the opening of our North America office. I am even more excited with the team that has joined the John Good Logistics family to lead this exciting new venture.

“I am certain that it will grow and contribute to the seamless delivery of high-quality specialist forwarding services to our internatio­nal customers, such as our specialist expertise in logistics for the packaging industry.”

Founded in 1833, and based on Bridgehead Business Park, Hessle, the company employs 330 people across the UK and Europe.

Stateside, industry veteran Dean Temple becomes president of John Good Logistics Inc, joined by Martha Rojas, executive vice president of sales, and Eric Soto, vice president.

Mr Temple said: “I am thrilled to join the John Good family and to have been entrusted with establishi­ng their US operations.

“I was impressed with the commitment to embrace the digitalisa­tion of our industry and their unwavering strategic vision to expand in the US, despite the current climate. I am confident our US presence will strengthen existing customer relationsh­ips, allow us to develop new ones, and will enable us to contribute significan­tly to the future global growth of the John Good Logistics organisati­on.”
