Pumpkin trail has Covid-free chills
COMMUNITY PLANS TRICK OR TREAT TRAIL
AS we all know Halloween is going to be slightly different this year, but that doesn’t mean your enjoyment of the spooky season has to go away.
Homes across Hull are taking part in the Hull Pumpkin Hunt for free as residents are dressing up their homes for families and children to enjoy.
The streets are filled with a wonderland of creepy characters, while trail walkers can dress in costume throughout October.
Pumpkin Trail organisers Chloee Rose and Beth Wright came up with the idea when parents across Hull and East Riding were left unsure of trick or treating rules this year.
Beth Wright said: ‘It’s still a way to have fun while families remain safe and enjoy themselves.”
Participants decorating their windows and outside of their homes are asked to display a sign explaining clear rules about the trail to keep it as safe as possible and within the appropriate social boundaries.
The trail is planned out by a number system. Residents will receive a number of 1,2,3 and so on to determine where they are on the route.
There are almost 2,000 people in the group, with over 200 houses already decorated.
There have been displays so far, a variety of with each household offering their own theme and ideas such as projectors in windows, carved pumpkins outside the door and handmade decorations.
Beth Wright said: “We have had a huge response to the group, people thanking us for it, getting their friends and families involved, displaying pictures on the Facebook group of their decorations, mentions of walks they are doing to see people’s displays and how thrilled and excited their children have been.”
The organisers ask everyone to have lots of fun, and to abide by the government guidelines put in place for their area.
