CLOSURE ORDER TO PUT STOP TO HER ANTISOCIAL ACTIVITIES

A CONVICTED drug dealer risks being evicted after a closure order was issued on her home.

Sophie Nutter caused misery for her neighbours in Beverley with drug dealing and late-night parties.

Now she has been told she is the only person who can enter 18 Schofield Avenue in Beverley, where she lives, and any breach could see her turfed out.

Together with her ex-partner Jack Walker, Nutter ferried cocaine across East Yorkshire, but their nefarious enterprise came crashing down when their Vauxhall Corsa was stopped by police on March 26 last year.

Earlier this month Nutter, 28, was handed a six-month jail sentence suspended for two years while Walker, 25, of Ashcourt Drive in Hornsea, was jailed for two years eight months.

But that has not been the end for Nutter after the misery she caused neighbours has resulted in further punishment.

Officers from East Riding Council’s antisocial behaviour team have been granted a three-month closure order by Hull Magistrates’ Court for her home.

The court heard on Thursday how Nutter had engaged in disorderly and criminal behaviour at the property while the use of the premises had resulted in “serious nuisance” to members of the public so a closure order was necessary.

Under the terms of the order, which comes into immediate effect, only Nutter can enter and leave the address at any time.

Anyone else found entering the property may be liable to arrest and, if convicted, receive a six-month prison sentence, fine or both.

Nigel Brignall, antisocial behaviour team manager at East Riding Council, said: “The drug dealing and late night parties at the property have made the lives of those living nearby a misery.

“The judge made it clear Nutter is on her final warning and any breach of this closure order will result in the council making an application for a full closure order, which would see her also excluded from entering the property”

“The council takes antisocial behaviour very seriously and will not tolerate this kind of behaviour, regardless if they’re council tenants or not.”

Earlier this month, Hull Crown Court heard how the car, being driven by Jack Walker, handed over a large amount of cocaine and heroin to Nutter to hide while he spoke to police.

Walker gave police a false name and when Nutter handed over her driving licence, the officers noted she had a lot of cash in her purse.

The pair were arrested and taken to Clough Road police station where it was discovered in an effort to conceal the drugs, Nutter had stuffed them down the back of her underwear.

Police found eight bags of heroin, with 200mg in each bag, and five bags of cocaine which had 217mg in each bag.

Mobile phone analysis showed the pair were drug dealing together - although Walker played a bigger role in the enterprise and would “run” the drugs to customers.

Stephen Robinson, mitigating for Nutter, told the court she has no previous convictions and was “coerced” into drug dealing with Walker.

Anyone other than Sophie Nutter seen entering 18 Schofield Avenue, Beverley will be committing an offence and should be reported to Humberside Police by calling 101.
