£400,000 cannabis farm found in village

-

A MASSIVE 650-plant cannabis farm has been unearthed in a quiet East Riding village.

Police estimate the grow could be worth “almost £400,000” and took up “almost every room” of the property in Tickton.

The huge haul was discovered at an address in Scotts Hall Garth on Thursday and it is understood that the electricity within the building had been “dangerously tampered with” putting occupants of the house and neighbours at risk.

The grow was uncovered by Humberside Police as part of Operation Galaxy, the force’s crackdown on crime that affects the most vulnerable in the communities of Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Providing an update on the massive find, a police spokeswoman said: “On Thursday, november 5 proactive East

Riding patrol officers, supported by Operation Galaxy, descended on an address in Scotts Garth Drive in Tickton to discover a large cannabis grow of almost 650 plants.

“The plants were at various stages of growth, occupying almost every room in the property and are believed to have an estimated street value of almost £400k. As common with cannabis grows in residential properties, the electricity had been dangerously tampered with, putting those around the house at risk.
