Hull’s play-off dream is very much alive....
BLACK AND WHITES HAVE EVERY CHANCE OF BOOKING A HOME FINAL DATE
Hull FC enter the new top six play-off format with confidence and in good form, albeit facing a very good Warrington team over the Pennines at the Wolves’ home ground.
Pre-season 2020 promised much in terms of the club’s recruitment of players, the continuity in the key positions and the hopes of everyone connected to the club that this could be the year for more silverware in the shape of a Challenge Cup or the Super League trophy having won the Grand Final.
Round one was as promising as it gets. I witnessed live a dominant demolition of the Leeds Rhinos at Headingley, the FC juggernaut was unstoppable.
Fast forward and a sacked head coach but yet the dream of the Super League trophy is very much alive after the restructured season shortened further and the play-offs extended to include places five and six.
And so FC are in, and lucky or not should the team go on to win the final I don’t believe I or anyone else Black and White will give a damn about how it happened, just that it has happened.
And Hull FC have every chance of winning the Grand Final.
The first objective is a win at Warrington on Thursday night. Again they’re a capable enough team to rain on the parade of the hosts by eliminating them from the play-offs and ending their season.
Thursday’s game is a big one, make no mistake about it, it’s knock out rugby league where the intensity, the desperation and the sheer will of players goes up noticeably.
The Black and Whites haven’t a chance according to many so-called experts, so wouldn’t it be just wonderful to see the FC players celebrate a famous win and move into the second round of play-offs?
