JEMMA Mckenzie-brown, most commonly known for her role in High School Musical, has returned to Hull to promote her new venture.

Jemma spent her childhood Beverley dreaming of becoming performer.

After spending time in London training in theatre, she landed her big break in High School Musical 3 at the age of just 13.

She played Tiara Gold, a snotty British girl aiming to take the place of “fabulous” lead character Sharpay.

The Hull-born star now travels the globe, hanging out with the likes of Zac Efron and the Beckhams.

She is now older, wiser and feels as though she has finally found her sound as she looks to conquer the music industry with a new band.

Jemma and her band About Bunny are bringing a new sound to the industry as they release their debut single Special tomorrow.

The band of four are looking forward to sharing what they have been working on.

Jemma wanted to step away from her well-known movie character and find her own sound.

She said: “About Bunny for me is the project that finally made me feel like I’d really found my voice.

“I’d had a huge passion for music life, and spent years after High School Musical working out where I would fit in.

“It’s the first time I’ve really felt like I can just be myself.”

Jemma says she has not forgotten about her fans from High School Musical, and loves interacting with them across popular social media platform Tiktok.

“It’s amazing, after all these years, how much people are still excited by it and how much it meant to people when they were growing up.”

Jemma said that during this time it is in a important to support those in the arts, s, entertainment, and music industry as s much as possible.

“It felt for a moment that the e Government had forgotten musicians, s, many of whom do not rely on record d sales but on live performance to make ke their income.

“Needless to say, this is an unpreccedented time and I hope I speak for or everyone when I say I hope we can all ll get into a venue soon for a song and a dance, as we need it.”

About Bunny will invite fans backkstage of concerts once entertainment nt reopens to enjoy their ethos of “letting ng loose and having a good time”.
