Sitting pretty: ‘dogfluencer’ Lola has 530,000 social media followers
GERMAN SHEPHERD IS HULL’S MOST POPULAR CANINE PAL
LOLA the German Shepherd is Hull’s most popular dog, with 530,000 social media followers.
Unlike other dogs, the photogenic pup spends much of her day being photographed and paid to advertise treats, toys and more.
Amie Williams moved to Hull last year and brought Lola into her life when she felt lonely.
She started an Instagram page for Lola, who caught the eye of dog lovers.
Lola, who will be two this month, has 30,000 followers on Instagram and 500,000 on video app Tiktok.
Lola enjoys walks in the country side such as North York Moors National Park, chasing her ball and playing with dog friend Charlie.
She likes to “sit pretty” and has learnt a new trick to cover her eyes and be bashful.
Amie said: “I’ve always grown up around dogs and German Shepherds were a breed I always aspired to have.
“I was always blown away by their intelligence, loyalty, appearance and personalities.”
Amie began Lola’s social media pages through her love of photography and capturing memories around Yorkshire and the Humber region of her dog and beautiful scenery.
Aime said: “I love being able to scroll back easily and see how she’s changed and grown.
“Some of my favourite social media pages are animal pages, they just make you smile whatever you’re feeling.
“Some people find Instagram pages for pets a ridiculous idea, but I actually find the pet Instagram pages are really encouraging and lovely to speak to.”
Lola’s Tiktok account “pawsofshire” was created last year and has since become the biggest account in Hull, with more than nine million likes.
Amie said: “It was easy to pick up views being a ‘cute dog account’ because not many people had created pet accounts by this point.
“Original comedy videos using popular sounds, or informative videos are two things I think we have done well on Tiktok, which has helped us getting bigger.
“I really enjoyed seeing people from Hull commenting, surprised that their city had been given recognition on Tiktok.
“I am glad I am able to share how beautiful this area really is with my followers.”
