Sorensen linked with move to KCOM Stadium

-

HULL FC have been linked with a move for Cronulla Sharks forward Scott Sorensen.

League Express are reporting the 27-year-old is a target for FC who are one of several Super League clubs interested in bringing him to the Northern Hemisphere.

However, the Mail understands that while FC will look to be active when it comes to recruitment in the build-up to the 2021 campaign, the priority remains appointing a head coach.

As such, there has been no contact with Sorensen or his representatives up to now and it is believed the man tasked with taking Hull into next season will have the final say on any new players.

FC will be competing in a Super League semi-final on Thursday night in the hope they can reach a Grand Final, but plans are being put in place for next season and the club hope to have a permanent coach in place sooner rather than later.

Sorensen, who has spent time with Canberra Raiders and South Sydney Rabbitohs as well as Cronulla, is available and has been offered to a number of Super

League outfits as he looks to secure his future.

But it is thought reports suggesting Hull are close to striking a deal with the forward are wide of the mark at present.

There is room for new faces at the KCOM Stadium, with Ratu Naulago set for rugby union, Gareth Ellis retiring and Albert Kelly leaving last month and returning home to Australia

Kelly’s departure also leaves space on Hull’s overseas quota and with players in a number of positions being discussed, the club must decide how best to fill it.
