Sneyd getting a kick out of proving Hull’s critics wrong

MARC Sneyd says he‘s found real joy in silencing Hull FC’S critics of late and he hopes to prove them wrong again tonight.

The Black and Whites hit the road once more with the DW Stadium their destination where they will face Wigan Warriors in the play-off semi-finals.

FC, who finished sixth in the regular competition, are considered huge underdogs for the clash with the bookmakers and few will be tipping Andy Last’s side to beat the League Leaders’ Shield winners.

However, Hull have got used to being written off this season and that just fuels Sneyd’s ambition to end the semi-final clash on the winning side and seal Hull’s first place in a Grand Final for 14 years.

“I can’t speak for the rest but I definitely do,” Sneyd said when asked if the squad get a kick out of proving people wrong.

“It’s always enjoyable when you can look someone in the face when they’ve said something not true, shall we say. It’s always nice, everyone enjoys doing it so I’m going to say the rest of the team are the same.

“We train together five or six days a week and we know full well how well we can play.

“We’ve always known it was there but it was the platform of getting ourselves into these situations that we’re in because we know when these big games come round most people step up and enjoy the challenge.”

FC players don’t need telling what will be on the line tonight when they take to the field against Adrian Lam’s table toppers.

However, they’re also experienced enough to know that looking beyond the Cherry and Whites would be a huge mistake.

“To be honest, the final has not been mentioned one little bit,” he added. “When you’ve got a semifinal against Wigan, you can’t look past that.

“As soon as the full-time whistle goes and hopefully we’ve got the win, then all our attention will on being back here in Hull for the Grand Final.”
