A DESPERATE west Hull mum m living in a house riddled with h mould and damp says she fears for the health of her two young children.

Natalie Hadi, 27, even has to o work from her home in Lulworth h Avenue, but admits the inside is s actually colder than the autumn n weather.

Ms Hadi works as a carer for a disabled child and often cares for r him inside her west Hull property, y, along with her two young sons s

Kye, seven, and Koby, one.

However, her living conditions s have crumbled to such an extent t that she admits to being afraid to bath her own baby, given the icy temperatures inside her home.

The mum of two says she even has letters to prove she is in the “vulnerable” category from the council but that her home, which is owned by the local authority, is to the detriment of her family’s health.

A huge leak from her roof means Natalie is without heating, as well as electricity in much of the property.

She says Hull City Council has sent her two heaters, but that she now has to foot the bill of around £10 per day to keep them running.

“I’m at a dead end. I’m left with no heating and with a baby and a sevenyear-old,” the worried mum said.

“I’ve had mould issues. There is black mould in the bathroom and bedrooms including in my son’s bedroom.

“They’re breathing it in. It is very difficult keeping them away. I’m having to clean with harsh chemicals and then they are having to go back in the room.

“I’m going through £10 a day with these heaters they’ve sent me.

“The roof is leaking through two floors. It is literally from the roof. They’ve shut down the electrics downstairs. I can use some in the living room, but they’ve had to turn certain things off.

“The council has sent letters saying how vulnerable l bl I am, b but t th then th they are not helping.

“I’m very vulnerable. They’ve been saying not to go out. It’s actually colder inside than it is outside.”

Natalie has lived in the Boothferry Estate property for almost eight years and says the situation is getting gradually worse.

She claims to have been told that the home could need underpinning as a result of tree roots affecting its stability -a process that could cost the council hundreds of thousands of pounds. Scaffolding is set to be installed today, but she is unsure when she will be able to have a warm and safe home for her children once again.

“I don’t even like to bath my baby as its too cold for him,” she said.

“They keep coming and bodging it. You can put a ball on the floor and it rolls away. You can’t even hang wallpaper up straight.

“When it is raining heavily, water comes through. Because the house is moving, everything is moving.”

The council has confirmed attend Natalie’s home today.

In a statement, a spokesman for Hull City Council said: “We are in contact with the family, and repairs to this property are taking place this week. “We will continue to work with them to address any other concerns they may have.”
