A TRUE bobby-dazzler from East Yorkshire was thrilled beyond his wildest dreams after he was given the chance to work rk at his local Tesco store for or the day.

Bobby Churchill, aged ed four, from Newbald, acted ed as a Tesco staff member er in the Market Weighton on store on Monday and sat at in a delivery van, worked d on the checkout and was as even given his own uniiform, badge and a gift at the end of the shift.

Medic dad Benjamin says that trips to Tesco have given little Bobby y “some normality” dur- ing the pandemic and d that his shift at the store e “made his year”.

During the visit, social l distancing and cleanli- ness as part of the coronavirus rules were in place.

“It all started a few w weeks back when I posted on a local site if someone could make a T-shirt for my little boy’s birthday,” said Mr Churchill.

“Bobby is fascinated by Tesco, I think it’s because its been his little bit of normality through the pandemic.

“Both his parents - myself and

wife Chantelle - work in the healthcare sector, so we’re working shifts a lot around each other during this hectic few months.

“When we had t the odd day off together b between shifts we would p pop to Tesco to get some f food and treats in for Bobby a and his sister Indie.

“Now every time we drive past Bobby wants to go in, he says Tesco is the ‘best shop top 100 in the world’. “After my post a lady ca called Lishka from Tesco in Market Weighton got in to touch and said they would p plan something for him.” Mr Churchill says that B Bobby now sleeps with the Te Tesco van toy he was given an and has been telling all the ch children at school about his ad adventure.

“We visited on Novembe ber 23 and they had made hi him his own uniform with a ba badge, they brought a Tesco va van from another supermarket for Bobby to go in with his Mummy to beep the horn and have a photo taken,” he said. “Fo l l owing that he had some checkout training and did exceptionally well - the staff finished his visit with a gift of his very own toy Tesco van and some chocolate. “Since the visit, he has not stopped talked about how he is a big boy now he’s got a job at Tesco. “I came in from a medical shift last night to find him in bed snuggled up, not with one of his teddies but the Tesco van they had given him.

“He’s told all of his nursery about his new job and showed them his ‘super cool van’. “Honestly, Tesco did a fantastic job and made a little boy’s year completely. I was slightly jealous ,to be honest.”
