PLAYER RATINGS

-

GEORGE LONG

Alert early doors which would have given him confidence. Rarely looked in any great danger and will have been pleased to mark his return with a welcome clean sheet. 7

BRANDON FLEMING

Settled in well and looked determined to take a chance he’d been waiting a while for given the absence of Callum Elder. Looked comfortable throughout. 7

ALFIE JONES

Solid, competent and rarely makes too many errors. Slotted in nicely alongside Jacob Greaves. Fine performance. 7

JACOB GREAVES

Lovely interception before setting Wilks free for City’s opener and that set the tone for what was a dominant display. Getting the captain’s armband late on would have given him a great feeling. 8

JOSH EMMANUEL

Decent enough as you’d expect, could have scored his first City goal in the second half. Reliable and still looks the best signing of the season. 7

RICHIE SMALLWOOD

Tidy with and without the ball. Against a lively, experienced midfield did his job without any fuss. Task made easier when Ben Watson went off inside opening 10 minutes. 7

GREG DOCHERTY

A decent display from the Scot. Busy in and around the engine room. Snapping at the heels throughout, never stopped running. Got a deserved goal, his second for the Tigers. 8

GEORGE HONEYMAN

Great to see him back because he has been missed. Delivery from set-plays once again vital even if his passing at times in open play looked a little off the pace. Showed his class, though, in setting up the second goal. 7.5

MALLIK WILKS

Lively, saw plenty of it with his cross setting up the crucial opener. Needs to learn to make better decisions in the final third, and practice shooting on his right foot. 7

HAKEEB ADELAKUN

Right place, right time to net his third City goal. Some good play and some moments which left you feeling a little frustrated. Still feel there’s a lot more to come. 7

TOM EAVES

Missed an absolute sitter just after the Tigers went in front before thrashing one over. Didn’t see it too much in the second half. Will be frustrated not to have scored having been given a rare league start. 6

FROM THE BENCH

Keane-lewis Potter (for Eaves 70): Instantly livened things up in the final third, giving City an extra dimension. Lovely cross for the second goal and could have netted himself. 7/10 Thomas Mayer (for Adelakun 78): Curled in a lovely cross late on which probably deserved to be thumped into the net. 6/10 Regan Slater (for Honeyman 79): A useful 10 minutes, will have been frustrated to be benched, though. 6/10 Dan Batty (for Smallwood 85): Good to see him on the pitch, albeit for a cameo with game management the key in the final minutes. 6/10
