Simon Jordan admits he continues to be asked about buying Hull City, and that includes former star Nick Barmby and his wife.

Jordan, the former chief at Selhurst Park between 2000 and 2010 was speaking on his TALKSPORT radio show with Jim White about boxing and Hull star Luke Campbell.

The 53-year-old often mentions Hull in passing owing to his wife Michelle Dewberry being from the city, and that resulted in some Tigers fans writing in to ask him about the possibility of taking on the club from the muchmaligned Allam family.

City fans have been at odds with the current ownership which have overseen relegation from the Premier League to League One, with supporters holding an intense desire to see the club sold to new investors.

Jordan, though, emphatically ruled out doing a deal with the Allams in his own no-nonsense style.

“No,” Jordan said on TALKSPORT when asked by White if he would consider buying the

Tigers from the Allams.

“I saw Nicky Barmby the other day and he asked me the same question. I go there and Michelle’s family, they all ask me the same question. No, no, no and no.”

City remain for sale with the under-fire Allam family understood to be looking to recoup around £25m for the club they took over in 2010.

In recent years there have been numerous claims about possible takeovers, with Assem Allam claiming in February 2019 that he turned down a bid because he believed the perspective owners lacked the funds to invest, while a Chinese bid went cold in 2018 resulting in the owner blaming a supporters’ protest.
