Tributes are paid to health centre’s ‘true gent’ doctor
DOCTOR DIED IN HOSPITAL
THE family of a Hull doctor described by a former patient as a “true gent” have paid tribute to him.
Dr Noel De Netto passed away unexpectedly in Hull Royal Infirmary on January 5 at the age of 92 his family said.
He is said to have lived his life by a simple mantra - “everything in moderation”.
Sharing the sad news on Facebook, his son, Ranjit De Netto, said his dad had been a GP at Bransholme Health Centre.
He said his father’s first surgery was in a portakabin in Moorfoot Close.
Posting on the Bransholme News Facebook page, Ranjit De Netto said: “I wanted to let you know that sadly on Tuesday night January 5, our dad
92 years young, he lived his life by a simple mantra ... ‘everything in moderation’
- Dr. Noel De Netto - passed away unexpectedly in HRI.
“92 years young, he lived his life by a simple mantra..... ‘everything in moderation’.
“I’m sure that some of you will know someone whose life he touched during his time as a GP at the Health Centre.
“His purity of ethic as a doctor allowed so many to have exceptional and compassionate care when it was needed most.
“He often spoke about what a privilege it was to work in Bransholme with such wonderful people, from his first surgery in a portakabin on Moorfoot Close to the Health Centre.”
He added: “Due to Covid, we plan to have a memorial service for him later this year and to those of you at a time who knew him, you welcome to come.”
