Floral tributes to ‘lovely colleague’ after fatal crash

FLOWERS have been left in memory of a woman who tragically died after being hit by a car in Cottingham.

Emergency service teams rushed to Hull Road shortly before 7.30am on Tuesday, January 12, following reports a woman was struck by a Dacia Duster as she crossed the road.

Police officers and ambulance crews swarmed the area and the road remained shut in both directions throughout the morning until 2pm.

The woman sadly died scene despite the efforts emergency services. Her have been informed.

A friend has paid respects to the woman with flowers at the scene. A message on the flowers reads: “RIP my lovely colleague and friend.”

Humberside Police have issued an appeal for witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers to come forward.

They have requested for anyone who saw the collision or the grey Dacia Duster as it drove northat the of the family bound from Bricknell Avenue Hull to get in touch.

On January 12, a force spokesman said: “This morning, shortly before 7.30am, we were called to a road traffic collision on Hull Road in Cottingham.

“A woman crossing the road on a zebra crossing was struck by a car, a grey Dacia Duster. Despite great efforts by the emergency services she sadly passed away at the scene.

“Her family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. Our thoughts are with the lady’s family at this sad time.

“We are now appealing for anyone (that has not already spoken to us) who might have seen the collision or the Dacia driving northbound from Bricknell Avenue in Hull prior to the collision to call us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 61 of January 12, 2021.” in
