Business pleases Mccann

-

GRANT Mccann admits it’s been a good week for Hull City off the pitch, as the Tigers prepare for a huge week on it.

City face the first of two successive Tuesday night games with promotion rivals Accrington Stanley this evening at the KCOM Stadium, with a visit to third-placed Portsmouth sandwiched in between on Saturday night, but they’ll do so buoyed with some fine work in the transfer market.

Jordan Flores and Gavin Whyte signed last week before Dan Crowley joined on loan for the season yesterday, with the Cardiff City man impressing on his debut in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Blackpool.

It was also confirmed that Keane Lewis-potter had agreed a new contract at the club until 2023, with City having the option to extend it for a further year.

“We’re delighted Keane has signed and committed to the football club,” Mccann said.

“He’s a big player for us and it’s great to have him settled now so he can focus on his football.

“We love working with him and it’s time for him to kick on now.”

Crowley has arrived from Birmingham with a big reputation and is expected to go straight into the squad for tonight’s game, and it’s a move Mccann has hailed.

“It’s a great signing for us,” the Northern Irishman said.

“He will make a difference in the front three and is versatile in how he can play, off the left or as a 10, sometimes as a nine.

“He’s a clever player and wants to get on the ball, wants to get on the half-turn, wants to create opportunities and wants to score goals.

“It’s three new signings in the last week with Gavin Whyte and Jordan Flores, and we’re really pleased with our business.”
