KEANE Lewis-potter has ended weeks of speculation surrounding his Hull City future by agreeing a new contract at the KCOM Stadium, and says he’s relieved to have finally put the situation to bed.

The 19-year-old’s new deal runs until 2023, with the Tigers having the option to extend that by a further year, providing a huge boost to City’s hopes of securing an instant return to the Championship.

Negotiations had hit the buffers a month ago with an impasse over the length of the new deal, despite financial terms largely being agreed with the seven-goal forward.

Following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Blackpool, boss Grant Mccann spoke of the need to draw a line under the situation once it had been resolved, before it was revealed yesterday morning that progress had finally been made, much delight.

“I’m said.

“It’s taken a while but now I can focus on the games.

“It means everything to me to play for Hull City. It’s my club and I can’t wait to crack on.

“The gaffer has been excellent with me.

“He’s pushed me to become better and every day I feel like I’m becoming a better player with him. to the delighted,” teenager’s

“It was quite a slow progression for me at first but this season I’ve kicked on massively and the gaffer has helped me massively with that as well.”

Lewis-potter will hope to get a first start since the FA Cup win over Fleetwood Town in November tomorrow night when City host Accrington Stanley at the KCOM Stadium.

It’s the first of three games in the space of a week against promotion rivals Stanley and Portsmouth.
