PLAYER RATINGS

-

GEORGE LONG Made two good, smart stops early in the first half but failed to stop Charles’ opening goal which proved decisive. 4 LEWIE COYLE Showed his intent early on and looked one of the Tigers’ better players in the first half. Not so second half, caught out for the opener and that seemed to unsettle him. 5

CALLUM ELDER

Made an early mistake inside his own box which allowed Accrington in and that seemed to set the tone.

Not a night to remember. 5

ALFIE JONES

A busy night at the back in a match where the Tigers were put under a fair amount of pressure. 5

JACOB GREAVES

Nervy start as he struggled with his footing, made a couple of timely blocks. Had an awful lot of work to do along with Jones. 5

RICHIE SMALLWOOD

Not a great night and his evening was summed up when Mccann took him off midway through the second half. 4

GREG DOCHERTY

Started well, fed Wilks with a lovely ball to fashion an opening. Couldn’t get into it in the second half amid a poor team display. 5

GEORGE HONEYMAN

Tried to get on the ball in the first half and just lacked a couple of killer touches in the final third. His injury will be a major concern. 5

MALLIK WILKS

Fluffed a big chance in the first half when he blazed over and another in the second. A poor night reflective on the side. 4

KEANE LEWIS-POTTER

Keane Lewis-potter: One mazy run in the second half threatened to get the Tigers back into it, highlight of a poor night. 5

JOSH MAGENNIS

Saw a header chalked off when it could easily have stood and that proved the key moment in the game. Plenty of effort, little came off. 5
