Seven further deaths added to Covid-19 toll

A FURTHER 225 cases of coronaviru­s have been confirmed in Hull and the East Riding this weekend.

Meanwhile, a total of seven more deaths have also been reported at Hull hospitals, announced in data released on Saturday and Sunday.

One of the deaths occurred on February 3, three on February 4, two on February 5 and one on February 6.

Latest figures from the Government have revealed there have now been a total of 31,848 cases of Covid-19 in Hull and the East Riding as of yesterday.

The East Riding saw 101 positive tests this weekend – 64 announced on Saturday and 37 on Sunday – bringing the total in the area to 15,588.

The cumulative infection rate, since the pandemic began, now stands at 4,568.9 per 100,000 of the population in the East

Riding of Yorkshire.

In Hull, there have now been 16,260 cases of coronaviru­s in the city after an increase of 124 new cases this weekend – 82 announced on Saturday and 42 on Sunday.

The cumulative infection rate in the city now stands at 6,259.2.

And according to NHS England figures, 715 people in total have lost their lives to Covid-19 between Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital.

Nationally, the Government said in data released yesterday that there had been a further 15,845 cases of coronaviru­s in the UK in the past 24 hours.

It brings the total number of cases in the UK to 3,945,680.

The Government also said yesterday that a further 373 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19, as of Sunday. This brings the UK total to 112,465.
