Boris Johnson has been ‘woefully inadequate’

MIXED REACTION AS BUSINESS INTRODUCES A NEW OPTION

PHILLIP Crossland (Mailbox, February 9) writes that Boris Johnson is doing his best, but that’s the problem as his best is woefully inadequate.

As for sympathy, that should go to those many people badly let down by this Government such as care homes staff and residents.

The slow, too little too late responses to the pandemic has been an absolute disaster and if I was given the space Mary Carrick was allotted recently I could list all the failures, U-turns, mistakes, Test/trace dishonesty and failure, slow responses, PPE etc.

When he wasn’t putting lies on the side of a bus and defending the big lie, he was spouting about border controls, how ironic that it has taken ten months to decide to use border controls to stop incoming potential virus sufferers spreading variants old and new.

Remember that Thatcher jibe “U-turn if you want to”? ,Johnson and co should be told she didn’t mean it to be done literally or liberally.

As for the Patel remark that they have been ahead of the curve throughout, that’s almost Johnsonian in its absurdity.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but some are hard to fathom and even a crazy country like America deserves better than Trump, just as the anyone but Corbyn voters here deserve better than Johnson.
