Delighted digger driver ‘shaking’ after £30k win

A DIGGER driver from East Yorkshire found out that he had won thousands while on his break.
Alex Pugh, 27, of East Cowick, learnt of his £30,000 win via video call with People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Matt Johnson.
As a cheque with the winning total was revealed he cheered and said: “£30,000, get in there. Love it. No way, I can’t believe it.” Mr Pugh took the call while on a break at work and cheered with his colleagues after receiving the good news.
When asked how he would celebrate he was quick to answer: “I finish work in about an hour so I’m going to go straight home and crack a couple of tinnies, I reckon.
“I’m shaking, I don’t know what to do.”
He also had some ideas on how he would spend his winnings: “I’m just gonna spend it on my house. I’ve done most of it, I’m finishing my last room now.
“Once I’ve done that, I’ve got the utility room to do and I’m going to knock the garage down and redo the garage.
“I’ll have to buy a bigger motorbike and take my girlfriend on holiday, St. Lucia somewhere like that.”
The windfall comes after DN14 8SY was announced as a winner with the lottery on Wednesday, February 10.
People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Matt Johnson sent his well wishes after the video call.
He said: “It was an absolute pleasure to bring this news to Alex and I’m so happy for him.
“I’m sure he’ll be celebrating tonight and I hope he gets that motorbike and holiday soon.”
Everyday throughout the February draws one postcode will be announced as a £30,000 prize winner. All the players in the postcode will win £30,000 for every ticket they hold.
