Pub landlord ‘watched’ girl sleeping through spy holes

48-YEAR-OLD DENIES RAPING GIRLS IN HIS IDYLLIC PUB

AN pub landlord from East Yorkshire allegedly watched a sleeping girl through a spy hole he made in a door.

Mark Dallison, 48, is currently standing trial at Hull Crown Court accused of eight counts of sexual offences against three children which include three counts of rape.

The former landlord of the Bay Horse in Cherry Burton, near Beverley, is accused of raping girls in the pub he ran. He denies all of the charges against him.

On the second day of the trial, the jury heard more details of his alleged sexual offending before taking over the pub.

It is alleged he was already a sexual offender before he moved to Cherry Burton, with one witness telling the jury he pulled down her trousers and touched her when she was just nine.

On Wednesday, February 24, the alleged victim gave evidence from the witness box. She told the jury how Mr Dallison had watched her sleeping through a crack he had made in a door, photographs of which were shown to the jury.

The woman said: “I realised there was a light coming through the door and you could see straight through. You could see someone had cut, there was stuff on the floor from where they had done it. I asked who had done it, but no one knew. I filled it in myself.”

The woman said she knew Mr Dallison to be a “very aggressive person” and said on one occasion she caught him naked.

She said: “He was always in control of everybody and made me feel uncomfortable. One day I saw him just stood naked. He ran into another room to look as if he didn’t mean it but left the door open. Another time, he put porn sounds on.”

The woman also detailed another incident where Mr Dallison offered her a vibrator.

The court heard on the day of the alleged sexual assault, the nine-yearold had been unwell and had been hallucinating that day, but when questioned about it by Mr Dallison’s barrister, she said she was sure that she had been sexually assaulted by him.

“Well there may be something but I can’t be sure what happened,” she said under cross examination. “He may have touched me down there.”

The girl told the court she was “scared” at the time and had not told her mum what had happened.

Mr Dallison had already been arrested in relation to other allegations made against him at that time. He is also accused to have started making inappropriate comments towards a 17-year-old girl.

Michelle Stuart-lofthouse, prosecuting, told the court on Tuesday that he would allegedly put his

hands on her hips and pat her on the bottom.

A third alleged victim claims that a few months after meeting Mr Dallison he put his hand down the front of her jeans.

On another occasion, again while the two were alone, she claims he cornered her before taking out his penis and forcing her to perform a sexual act on him.

It is claimed that a few weeks later he raped the woman for the first time at the Bay Horse. He allegedly raped her twice more at the pub.

Mr Dallison was said to have been “bewildered” by the accusations made against him when interviewed by police. The trial continues.
