Hull’s Ken doll reveals plans for Hull Fair
THEY INCLUDE PARTYING IN A FLUFFY-CARPET CARAVAN
HULL’S very own Ken doll has revealed his plans for Hull Fair and they include partying in a “fluffy-carpet caravan” for nine days.
Jimmy Featherstone, who is best known for being “plastic fantastic” Ken Doll and has found international TV fame, says he looking forward to partying with “old traveller friends” at the fairground.
The 22-year-old, who treated Beverley Races “like his wedding day”, now says he is stopping in a caravan costing £2,000 a week with his traveller friends and has been “planning his outfits for months”.
Jimmy, who spends £10,000 a year on cosmetic surgery, went on to share his excitement about the return of the event.
He said: “After last year’s cancelled event I’m looking forward to spending my time catching up with old friends.
“There’s so much more to the Fair behind all the fun of the fairground.
“It’s a place to meet new friends and catch up with old traveller friends that I haven’t seen for ages due to the pandemic - the Fair is the place to come together.
“We’re all showmen, we meet up with our horses. I have had some time away and now I am back in the saddle horse competing and modelling.
“Many people think you pitch up for free, but owners of trailers pay £2,000 for the week.”
The Hull-born man, who has found TV fame in America and New Zealand has been dressing up in tweed, and enjoying drinks out of cut glass tumblers in a caravan with a fluffy carpet.
Jimmy said: “I’ve been coming to Hull Fair from being little. My mum used to buy us new clothes and push us round in Silver Cross prams. It’s such a great event.
“I also have new outfits for the Fair as it’s a tradition. I have been getting my outfits ready for months.
“Then once the Fair closes there’s separate bars for showmen and travellers to get together and have a good drink.”
Jimmy will appear on Hooked On The Look airing RTLTV in the UK today, sharing his £10,000 a year cosmetic surgery addiction.
