Who’s left in the treatment room as KR prepare for pre-season?
HULL KR finished the campaign with depleted resources but Tony Smith should have a fully-fit squad to work with when pre-season begins.
The curtain came down on KR’S season following a play-off semi-final defeat to Catalans in Perpignan.
Rovers were without nine firstteamers at Stade Gilbert Brutus after suffering a spate of injuries in the final two months of the campaign. Of those players, Adam Quinlan, Greg Minikin and George Lawler are all moving on.
Matt Parcell (pectoral) and Dean Hadley (shoulder) have undergone operations but it is hoped both will be ready to go when the Robins begin team sessions in December.
KR are set to report back to Craven Park for the start of pre-season in mid-november, when Elliot Minchella will hope to take the next step in his recovery from an ACL injury.
The forward missed virtually the entire season but got back on the grass last week as he targets a big 2022.
Ethan Ryan (wrist),
Korbin Sims (Achilles) and
Rowan Milnes (shoulder) were the other three to miss the end of the season.
Ryan put his hand up to play in the final game against Catalans but was not risked, while Sims was touch and go before the trip to France. Milnes was ruled out with a minor injury picked up in the victory over Warrington the previous week.
None of the issues will prevent those players from starting pre-season.
Ryan Hall suffered no ill-effects after making a miraculous recovery from a torn bicep sustained in the penultimate game of the regular season.
The winger was ruled out for eight weeks, only to return 19 days later in Perpignan.
Mikey Lewis will be the only Rovers player involved in the upcoming internationals after his call-up by the England Knights.
Kane Linnett was included in Scotland’s extended squad for the clash with Jamaica later this month but he is set tol rest up after playing every game for the Robins in 2021.
