49: Kevin Naiqama: In his final outing, the Fijian centre produced one last big effort. The 32-year-old was everywhere in St Helens’ win over Catalans, scoring two tries in a powerful display that was enough to see him sneak into the top 50.
48: Samisoni Langi: The Catalans’ centre’s career launched to new heights, with seven tries in 19 games.
47: Niall Evalds: Lance Todd Trophy winner for his efforts in the Challenge Cup final with Cas.
Only scored seven tries, but his creativity and influence was absolutely crucial.
46: Joe Westerman: The loose forward’s strong displays earned him a return to the England side.
Westerman was named Coaches’ Player of the Year, underlining his influence on Wakefield in 2021.
45: Oliver Holmes: Holmes’ last year at Castleford was, arguably, his best as he bid farewell to the club ahead of a move to Wolves.
His efforts saw him named Castleford’s player of the year and players’ player of the year.
44: Zak Hardaker: Was the talk of the competition in the opening couple of months as Wigan won seven from seven.
Wigan’s form suffered when a neck injury forced Hardaker to miss two months of action. He showed bright moments on his return, but struggled to end the season as he started it.
43: Mikolaj Oledzki: Before injury struck, the Leeds prop appeared to be a shoo-in for the Dream Team and he won a first England cap in June. A tireless worker with and without the ball, Oledzki helped the Rhinos stay in contention for the play-offs.
42: Ryan Brierley: At 29, there are few players who would be able to make the transition to fullback.
But that’s exactly what Brierley has done, and the Leigh ace ended the season as Super League’s highest-scoring fullback.
41: Jake Wardle: He didn’t face the Combined Nations All Stars but many believe that England call-up was just the start for Wardle, who has been one of the outstanding young talents for some time.
The centre continued to look the part for Giants, with six tries and racked up more than 2000m.
