WOMAN RUNNING SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS FROM A CARAVAN

A YOUNG Hull woman has revealed how she is running a very successful business all from her pink caravan.

Angel White, 22, of west Hull, started her business, Angels Delights, in October 2020, and bought the caravan she now works from on Facebook.

Angels Delights sold earrings to start with, but now sells a “wide range” of items including tote bags, stickers, key rings and pins. Angel says since setting the business up almost a year ago, she has made more than 900 sales.

“I started the business as I’ve always been creative and created art and it’s something I’ve always been passionate about and wanted to do,” she said.

“Everything I sell is designed and made by myself. For most of my jewellery designs, I draw the designs on my ipad, then print directly onto the plastic to create the charms.

“In the first two weeks of setting up my business, I made 100 sales and I have now made over 900 sales in just under a year.

“The business is growing rapidly and I’ve put so much time and effort into investing into my business.”

But Angel also helps other small businesses too. She said: “I also run a side project - @thesmallbizangel - to help other small businesses become successful as I believe it’s important to not gate-keep.

“Etsy consider me as an experienced jewellery seller and even invited me to a webinar to gain more knowledge of selling on Etsy and help my store succeed.

“So the business has grown very fast in the almost year I’ve been running!”

Angel, who lives at home with her parents in west Hull, purchased her caravan earlier this year for just £140 and set about transforming the inside of it into a pink haven.

“I bought the caravan in February as I still live with my parents and with my bedroom being small, there just wasn’t any space for me to create art, so the caravan is used just as a hobby caravan right now as we are unable to use it as a touring caravan,” she said.

“I paid £140 for the caravan from Facebook and it was in almost perfect condition. There was a bit of mould, but I spent a week giving it a deep clean and then another week completely renovating it.”

Angel says the caravan was transformed “on a budget”.

“I painted everything myself,” she said.

“My mum dyed the curtains pink for me and I bought cheap pink throws from Morrison’s to cut up and wrap around the seat cushions to cover up the beige. It probably cost me another £200-£250 to buy the paint and decorations, so it was done on a budget.”
