Big changes to bin collections planned

-

Big changes to bin collections of household waste from homes in Hull and the East Riding are on their way. The shake-up is likely to see food waste being collected separately from garden waste and new rules on what can be put in bins currently used for mixed dry recycling.

Ive no room for any more bins. I have a bin store because I hate to see bins all over. This will mean all those streets that keep them on the front will look even worse then they do now.

Sandra Seath

I’m all for recycling, but another bin! They are taking over my garden.

Janet Mann

HCC: Complains about fly tipping. The government: Let’s make it more difficult to dispose of waste.

Luke Knight

Are they giving us all some extra land to keep all these bins on? I’m all for recycling but some people won’t have space for more bins.

Mike Newton

All these plastic bins makes a mockery of ridding the world of plastic for ecological purposes. Here’s a thought, who not go back to one metal bin, as we used to have, deposit everything in it, then let the privately owned recycling centres (not the bin men) do the job they are being paid for. Sort it out.

Brian Tozer

It’s ridiculous. You already fall over bins walking down the street now, so please HCC no more bins. I believe it will have a negative effect and people will stop recycling if more bins are forced upon us.

Mandy Webster

If I have to drive my rubbish to a supermarket it won’t be getting recycled. Samantha Lloyd

So let’s get this right … they want to increase my council tax but reduce the services I pay for and expect me to do their job with no deduction in tax or a wage paid? Hmmmmmm, not a bad idea.

Christopher Baynes

It’s getting silly now. Think we have enough bins already if you ask me!
