Hodgson says new signings still on Black and Whites’ radar

-

BRETT Hodgson has refused to rule out making more changes to his Hull FC playing squad over the coming weeks.

The Black and Whites made their latest signing of the off-season on Friday as they brought in Luke Gale from Leeds Rhinos to replace Marc Sneyd.

The half-back joins Darnell Mcintosh, Joe Lovodua and Kane Evans in Hodgson’s side and the head coach is more than happy with the business done so far.

However, he admits there is the possibility of more being done before the 2022 campaign gets underway, should the opportunity present itself.

“I wouldn’t say definitely,” Hodgson said when asked if Gale was the last signing of the off-season.

“What I will say is that we’re very happy with the squad that we’ve got at the moment. If things happen over the next two to four weeks then we’ll look at that, but everything is quite fluid.

“As it stands we’re very content with what we’ve got.

“There’s nothing specific, but this Marc and Luke Gale swap wasn’t in mind two weeks ago either. “We wanted to strengthen our squad this season, I feel we have done that and if there’s any more movement we feel could potentially strengthen us further then we’ll have those conversations.

“I said this last year as well, I have conversations with Adam [Pearson] and James [Clark] constantly in regards to how we can continue to look for improvements in what we’ve got.

“We want to bring people in who will benefit us, not just make up the numbers, so if something is to happen in the next period then we’ll look at that and talk about that.”
