A GRAND Final rematch will open the 2022 Super League season with St Helens set to host Catalans Dragons.

The pair, who engaged in a brutal battle at

Old Trafford last month, will reunite at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Thursday, February 10 to start the new season, with the game being shown on Sky Sports.

St Helens are looking to become the first club ever to win the Grand Final four years running, having secured the three-peat last season.

On Friday, Hull KR will host Wigan Warriors in what will be Matt Peet’s first game in charge since being appointed as the club’s new head coach.

The Robins are looking to build on last year’s play-off semi-final finish, while Wigan chase their first Grand Final triumph since 2018. That game will also be shown on Sky Sports live from Craven Park.

Super League have already confirmed that Leeds Rhinos will host Warrington Wolves on Saturday, February 12 in what will be the first ever Super League game to be shown on freeto-air TV.

Toulouse Olympique’s first assignment as a Super League club will see them host Ian Watson’s Huddersfield Giants, while a battle of two new head coaches will also take place as Lee Radford’s Castleford Tigers host Salford Red Devils, who will have Paul Rowley at the helm in 2022.

The final game of the round will see Wakefield Trinity host Hull FC.

Willie Poching’s side hammered the Black and White on the final day of last season and Brett Hodgson’s squad, bolstered by Luke Gale and Kane Evans, will look to avenge that result and get their season off to a strong start.

The full fixture list for the season was scheduled to be announced this morning.
