Superleague Netball set to return to Hull
THE Vitality Netball Superleague is heading to Hull next year with fans set to be treated to three elite-level games.
Leeds Rhinos Netball are heading on the road in 2022 as part of the club’s commitment to represent Yorkshire and increase awareness of the sport by offering fans around the county more opportunities to watch the cream of British netball.
The Allam Sports Centre will host games against Strathclyde Sirens in April, Surrey Storm in May and the final home fixture of the season against Saracens Mavericks.
The First Direct Arena in Leeds will host two showpiece events against Wasps and Manchester Thunder, while the EIS in Sheffield will stage three games.
Covid restrictions robbed fans of the chance to watch the Rhinos at home in their debut season in 2021, when they reached the play-offs.
With England players Jade Clarke, Vicki Oyesola, Sienna Rushton, Brie Grierson and Rhea Dixon in their ranks, Leeds will be aiming to kick on backed by support from across Yorkshire.
Leeds Rhinos Netball’s franchise director Dan Busfield said: “We are proud to represent our great county and have been overwhelmed by the support we have received.
“It was disappointing that fans were unable to watch us at home in our debut season, so we are really looking forward to next season when we can welcome our home fans and start building on the community around our team.
“A lot of hard work has gone in to finding the right venues and we are excited to be able to take our games across Yorkshire so more netball fans will get the opportunity to see us play and engage with the club.”
