Hull 4, London 1: What can you get for £270,000?
VALUE-FOR-MONEY PROPERTY
HULL has been named the third best city in the UK for offering the best value for money when buying a property, according to new research.
The latest data from the Office for National Statistics suggests the UK’S average house price has risen 10 per cent, with September figures showing the average price to be £270,000, up from £264,000.
Using this data, conservatory supply and installation company Conservatoryland has carried out a study into what Brits can expect to get for their money across the UK’S 30 most popular cities, from the average number of bedrooms and bathrooms, to square metres of living space.
Hull ranked third behind Stoke-ontrent and Derby, with the average property in the city giving a homebuyer four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and 87 square metres, while, perhaps unsurprisingly, London offers the worst with £270,000 getting homebuyers only a flat, with two bedrooms, one bathroom and no driveway.
So, what exactly can the UK’S average house price of £270,000 buy you in Hull at the moment, as opposed to what’s available in the worst ranked city, London?
